The Path to the Patch
Dues support the organization. The full patch is earned through safe riding, meditation, service, discipline, and trust. Dues cover insurance, safety training, service logistics, and record-keeping — they never buy standing. Prospects complete a roughly 90-day pathway at a safe, lawful pace.
The 90-day prospect pathway
Application and leadership interview
Submit your application, then meet with chapter leadership for a conversation about intent, safety, and service. No hazing, no humiliation, no coercion — ever.
Verification
Identity and emergency contact on file. Riders additionally verify a valid motorcycle endorsement, current registration, and current insurance. Records are stored privately and seen only by authorized leadership.
Sign the covenants
Code of Light, Privacy Notice, Membership Terms, liability waiver (placeholder pending attorney approval), and the sober-riding covenant.
Safety training
Complete a recognized motorcycle-safety course and the Brahmavīra group-riding orientation before riding in any club formation.
Learn Transcendental Meditation from an authorized teacher
Learn TM from a certified TM teacher. Brahmavīra does not teach official TM and makes no claim of authorization to do so. We store only a confirmation of completion — never any private meditation content.
Twice-daily meditation commitment
An honor-based commitment with simple check-ins. Reasonable disability, health, and religious accommodations are available on request. Never meditate while operating — or preparing to operate — a motorcycle.
Attend at least 3 chapter meetings
Show up, listen, and get to know the people you will ride and serve beside.
Complete 2 supervised Leadership Rides
Supervised, lawful group rides with a designated road leader. A documented makeup procedure exists for weather, work, health, and family conflicts.
Supervised 100-mile qualifying ride
Ridden with a patched member, including fuel and rest planning, lane discipline, and no intersection blocking. Lawful riding at all times.
8 verified service hours and one food-service project
At least eight verified volunteer hours, including one food-service project feeding people through an established community partner.
Written reviews
Written reviews by the Road Captain, the Service Lead, and the Membership Director, applied to one consistent council approval standard for every prospect.
Patch-In Ceremony
Read the Code of Light aloud, commit to sober riding, service, peace, and lawful conduct, receive your member number, and renew the covenant annually.
Absolutely prohibited
No part of this pathway may ever involve any of the following. Report concerns to chapter leadership or through our contact page; retaliation is itself a violation.
- Hazing, humiliation, or degrading tasks
- Coercion, intimidation, or retaliation
- Forced payments or unofficial fees
- Dangerous or stunt-based initiation
- Discrimination of any kind
- Any unlawful conduct whatsoever
Patch levels
Our insignia is single-piece and dignified. We use no three-piece territory rockers and no outlaw styling. We are an RC, never an MC, and claim no territory.
Supporter emblem
For members who serve without riding. A small emblem, worn with pride, no rockers.
Prospect identifier
Worn during the pathway. Marks a member in training, learning our safety and service standards.
Full chapter patch
Earned after the complete pathway and council approval. Single-piece design — no territory rockers, no outlaw styling.
Road Guardian designation
For riders trained in group-ride safety who support formations, sweep, and rider care.
Leadership designation
Chapter officers: Road Captain, Service Lead, Membership Director, Secretary, President.
Continuing annual standards
- Current license, endorsement, registration, and insurance for riders
- 4 leadership rides per year
- 24 community-service hours per year
- 2 food-service projects per year
- Continued twice-daily meditation commitment
- Annual dues, Code of Light renewal, and a safety refresher
Paying dues never guarantees approval, a patch, or leadership. Safety, licensing, insurance, and sober conduct requirements can never be waived.
