Privacy Notice
This notice is written in plain language and will be reviewed by counsel before final adoption.
What we collect
Account email, the details you enter in your application (name, preferred name, phone if provided, city, state, ZIP, chapter preference, rider status, motorcycle details if provided, interests, availability, skills, shirt size, and your reason for joining), your acknowledgements, service sign-ups and hours, event RSVPs, rider readiness status and expiry dates, and payment records returned by our payment processor.
What we never collect
We do not collect government ID numbers, Social Security numbers, medical histories, bank account details, or card numbers. Card data is handled entirely by Stripe; we store only a payment status and reference. Do not upload sensitive identity documents until secure verification is activated.
Who can see it
You can see and edit your own records. Chapter leaders can see only applicants and members assigned to their chapter, and only the operational fields needed for membership, ride safety, and service. Emergency-contact details are stored separately and are visible only to authorized leaders. National admins can manage chapters, roles, and plans. Leader and admin access to sensitive membership records is written to an audit log.
How we use it
To review applications, operate the chapter, coordinate service and events, verify rider readiness, and send updates you consented to receive. We do not sell personal data.
Retention and deletion
Membership and payment records are retained while your membership is active and afterwards only as long as needed for accounting, safety, and legal obligations. You may request access, correction, or deletion of your information at any time; we will respond within a reasonable period and explain any records we must retain.
